Leaving Microsoft( question about bonus receipt and bonus decision)

I searched and read some posts that say that if one leaves Microsoft on or after 1st July, they will still get the bonus. What if my manager decides to give no bonus after learning that I am leaving? I am trying to get an approximate date range when I can be sure that the bonus is finalized from my manager's end so that I can give my notice and leave.

You can give your notice after July first when it solidified but you can’t leave until November when the bonus pays out

Bonuses don’t get paid out until November, how are you planning on collecting that from a company that is no longer issuing you paychecks?

If you work through June 30th, you are indeed entitled to your bonus, however you are also right that your manager could choose to screw you over. If you trust your manager to give you a good rating, you can safely leave July 1. If you do not trust them, stay through mid-August, so that your bonus amount is locked in.

Ok so stay until mid August if you don't trust your manager

Yes the point is manager has to also submit rewards ideally by June 30 or a bit latter which varies in every org. The late it is, the harder to change rating since it has also gone to his manager and further up the chain. Leaders rarely care about that sort of negative retaliation. So August is very safe although if you leave post June 30 late July etc. you should still be okay for the most part. If you did poorly through the year, the 'when' doesn't really make a difference on bonus % obviously in that case. You just have to be employed till June 30 to at least be eligible for bonus
