Is BayArea dead?
I am not getting any good job. Interviews are weird. 99% of managers are morons. Now that they have the upper hand, they look for someone they like specifically. Cultural differences are amplified. Is bay area dead? The only jobs available are new AI start-ups with less pay and more grind. All posts in blind are now about relationships. YOE 13 yrs
It’s a bad market. It’ll be another 1-2 years, or 1 year after interest rate cuts before it starts to come back.
It’s questionable if we’ve even hit bottom yet. Commercial real estate could blow up. Fed is holding rates because inflation, but a core driver of inflation is housing and high rates cause people to not sell their homes and builders not to build, both of which drive housing inflation.
Agree in general, but I don’t think this will last 2 more years. If not, the govt will have to step in to stimulate the economy indirectly (not thought interest rates).
Timing isn't right to move. Companies are cutting pay and they have the upper hand. Things will change though. Just don't know when.
I joined my first job after 2008 recession. Never faced such a job situation innmu career.
