Is anyone really innovating? How rare is it to actually want to accomplish a unique goal? Where are the ones who are trying to create the next *insert something here* to really shift the paradigm of our current time? not to be overly philisophical, and maybe Iām just young. But for Christ sake wtf. Outside of āTeslaā is there any industry doing something new and creative yet practical and (slightly) possible? Can Elon not be the only standard? where are the jobs or teams that are like the ātraitorous eightā? All you hear is āGoogle isnāt the Google of 10years agoā āFacebook is innovative but *criticism*ā āAmazon has some nice projects but they work you like a pack muleā Is anyone passionate about making anything that isnāt being aimed for by the majority of tech bros? āget to FAANGā āget moneyā āget retired early with good familyā āget a nice houseā. Any āmoney is no object, itās abundant now make whatever you wantā type of concepts being dveloped? TLDR; why does it feel like there is a lack of creativity and where are the companies that are really pushing the envelope in tech? Is there anyone trying to create ANYTHING thats really exciting? #career #tech #faang
Thereās lack of creativity because leftists have monopolized the tech industry. The collectivist ideology coupled with big data and ML means that creativity isnāt needed - track all the users, collect all the data, use ML to predict what is their intent and then provide them with the product for that intent. Why do we need creative people? Data will tell us what product to make! Besides, these creative people with their creative products evoke lust and desire among people which is bigoted and patriarchal and capitalistic and consumerist! How long has it been since youāve seen a BMW commercial (or a motorcycle commercial with custom mods) with seductive girls attracted to the guy? Or for that matter those jewelry or fashion ads for the woman who has it all? Why are we bombarded today with constant propaganda about social justice and what we must buy and wear and eat and use for the sake of the āplanetā? š¤ Today when Peloton makes an ad of even just a fitness bike with a stereotypical beautiful lady, the media pounces on them for āshamingā plus sized or obese women and they attack the concept of fitness itself š¤·āāļø
Depends on what you call changing the world. For eg there is a team at Google that created a demonstration of a 100qbit quantum computer. Amazon Aurora is a pretty innovative db. Google is reintroducing stateful sharding and servers, I find all these things innovative.
Leave that job to Elon. Are you willing to blow up your entire wealth building a rocketship that seems impossible? Not many people have what it takes to change the world
Innovations happen, but they don't become popular in the real world. The only way to become popular is to use something that is already popular, but this isn't innovation -> logical contradiction. To break this contradiction, someone needs to create something popular based on something unpopular which rarely happens.
Elon fanboy eh
No, but heās the only one that receives praise for āchanging the worldā and there has to be more than that.
