Hey guys, Work at a ~800 person consulting firm in their management consulting practice. Moved into a Senior Consultant role in March after 7 years of experience in Financial Services sector (came in as SC opposed to Manager due to not having direct consulting experience). Looking to get input into how much I should be aiming for compensation wise at EOY for Manager promotion. Odd thing about our firm is they don’t give bonuses until Senior Manager level. $120k TC 8 years experience (Risk consulting + Strategic Finance roles) MBA Undergrad in Finance and MIS
If not at a big firm that’s appropriate unless you’re in strategy or some other higher rate specialty but sounds like you’re not.
Definitely a double. $120k TC 0.5 YOE Master in Business Analytics
With your years of experience and education I think you should be at the $200k+. Plus it could be the location you're in. My answer is referring to the DC area here and even at a small firm you should be at $200k or more.
8 years exp and an MBA or get 120k total comp is GROSSLY underpaid, wtf
Maybe compared to other potential options out there but in an 800 person consulting firm that’s the market. MBA doesn’t mean anything for you in consulting if you cannot be billable and help sell work. Much like after your first job post school simply having an MBA doesn’t do much for you if you aren’t a stud at your job.
