Do companies listen to Gartner?

I recently read a post by Gartner that stated “by 2022, 75% of new end-user solutions leveraging AI and ML techniques will be built with hybrid commercial solutions instead of pure open-source platforms”, with open-source growing at a rapid pace, my question is , is what Gartner says accurate (most of the time) and if not why do companies regard what Gartner says so highly?

Why do you think companies regard what Gardner says so highly? They are an easy source for lazy people that don’t want to do their own market research, but no one thinks they are all that accurate.

Curious whether you’re using Gartner as you’re understanding is superficial to say at least. Reason why 15,000 organisations are lazy is because the market research highly likely is more extensive given the sheer size of organisations we speak to on a daily basis. As no one has a crystal ball and we wouldn’t say we should be accurate our insights based on what the many clients are telling us could help us make an educated guess of what direction technology is heading towards. But who knows, maybe I’m not accurate 😉

There is a reason you guys don’t post your accuracy rate.
