What is your perspective, ideally from inside FB today, on team mobility and career growth for a full remote employee (E5, E6 and beyond)? How much mobility to other teams if I care to switch, or if I'm re-orged? Will the average team hire a remote? Will I be able to get E6+ work? Will virtual onsite with FB soon, I had turned them down when I joined G. Joined G for two key reasons: #1 stay in my preferred location (tertiary hub) and #2 a wider array of product areas to work on. I've realized I don't really have #2. I'm not a SWE or similar, so there aren't an infinite number of openings. More importantly it's always required to be in California or Seattle. When I got re-orged in the past, finding a new team was very smooth - but this felt like good luck with a totally unrelated opening arising at the same time, and that it easily could've become an ordeal. FB is back with their ~yearly ping, but now with full remote. See question above. Currently L5, ~280 TC, 3+ years.
Hmm I don't think they are perm remote. Just spoke with a recruiter and they said just until next summer, but barring virus not being gone, being onsite would be required
Perm remote is now a thing at FB
