Anxiety/depression/fear

Hi, I recently got promoted to the l7 role at Amazon, and ever since the promo, I have been going through extreme anxiety and nervousness. I have a hard time relaxing and sleeping without fear. I feel like my body is shivering when I go to sleep, and when I wake up in the morning, I wake up with extreme anxiety. I never got mental health support, but I am thinking that it's time I get it checked. So far i am doing ok at the job but i am going through very weired phase. I appreciate any tips in getting out of this phase. I am not even sure if this is anxiety, depression, or burnout. Male 40 year old

If you are a female, get your hormones checked.

If Amazon is making you so worried, why not leave ? Lots of doors will open for an L7 Principal. This is the perfect time to leave, after a promotion

It may be imposter syndrome. You internally feel you are not worthy of this higher responsibility even though you earned it through your skills. Take some professional help from counselor to reset your thinking.

I’m feeling the same way and attribute this to Amazon.

I have clinically diagnosed severe anxiety and mild depression. Getting exercise whether that’s a light walk after work or doing your favorite physical activity does wonders. It also helps to remember that work is not your life. You work to live, not live to work. Build up a large emergency fund so that if you were to lose your job, it will not cause significant stress.

I understand you are a troll. I would stop shivering if I were paid the amount of money you are paid at your L7 role.

I had the exam same symptoms. Take some medical leave, reach out to a mental health specialist, get yourself on some medications. Depending on life circumstances, get a psychologist as well. Medical leave up to 12 weeks is extremely easy either way your symptoms. Regular exercise and getting a pet are known to help as well.

What exactly is worrying you? If you understand the underlying cause it may be easy to address it..
