I’m in the middle of my interviews with Meta, and I’m curious if the fact that I did 1, 2, or 3 Meta ambassador calls makes it to hiring committee for a hire/no hire decision. Let’s say my feedback is on the fence. Does HC even see the fact that I did the calls? Do notes from the ambassador calls get recorded? Could HC see those notes?
What are ambassador calls??
When you’re interviewing with meta, you can look through a directory in your candidate profile and schedule calls with Meta employees of your choosing to ask questions about what it’s like working at Meta
it’s not connected and not used as part of the hiring signals/process. i suppose it’s possible for a candidate to say something super outrageous enough (like, clear legal/HR violation) that ambassador tracks down HR or recruiting… but, that’s a pretty high bar to clear and would require a very motivated employee.
They say they don’t…
I assume that it’s an internal metric that gets tracked for promo decisions (I.e. “I did 56 ambassador calls” could be factored into a promo packet”) so clearly they’re tracked. The only question is; is the fact that they happened bundled into the HC packet?
