I read this somewhere that everyone has to go through either one of the 2 pains: pain of discipline or pain of regret. As someone who is acutely aware of the missed opportunities in life due to indiscipline, procrastination & sheer lethargy, I would want to just share that the pain of discipline or simply doing what needs to be done at the right time, forgoing immediate gratification will go a long way in not just making you more successful but also keeping you in a better state of mind. We don’t realize that a lot of problems that we have today could have been avoided by doing the necessary things in the past. I have tried changing the habit of pushing things out till the last minute & it has given me some very positive results. Just wanted to share my experience with anyone out there who has struggled with this.
Can you elaborate more? For what did you apply? How did you apply? What did you change? What was the difference in results?
I apply it to my diet/going to gym. Eating healthy requires the pain of discipline, or I could live with bad health and regret
How often do you have your cheat days and how often do you eat out?
I agree. If procrastination was a sport I would be a gold medalist every time.
What worked best for you in order to take action more quickly and not procrastinate. I totally agree with you btw and have been thinking about this after hearing about it on a podcast. Maybe Modern Wisdom?
Thanks for the post. Been thinking about avoiding procrastinating but needed some boost
Very beautiful thought!
