There is only 85k H-1B visas but no one leaves the country

There are far too many Indians. There are only 85k H-1B visas of which lets say 70% are Indians, it seems like there are far more Indians than this number. People talk about leaving the country but doesn't look like it. Everyone who comes to the US for education lives here for perpetuity. Idk what the whining is about. everyone seems to figure out a way TC 250K

We need to offshore more jobs to India.

Zuora B.PolicešŸšØ Apr 15

Just like caucasians came to America many years ago and never went back. Native Americans have the same question for you OP. šŸ‘€

We need to offshore the Indians šŸ˜

Apple alrightt Apr 14

Why are you butt hurt? Maybe you should just get back to work so you donā€™t get replaced by another Indian.

Qualtrics huƱnTr Apr 15

OP should go back to India. Butt hurt treatment is cheaper and no wait times.

Amazon 117893 Apr 19

For all those who think Americans will be replaced by Indians - donā€™t worry a race war is coming

Microsoft Tha_Ghost Apr 14

It's 80k per year for the last 10 years or something like that so close to a million if you include other types of visas

Amazon dhoii OP Apr 14

There are far more indians than a million. There are probably a million in bay area and dallas combined

Coupang inky_pink Apr 14

No shit sherlock. 1 million H1b means roughly 2.5 million people in H1B families alone. Add another 2 million who are already PR / citizen / students ...

US is the best out there for tech. Europe/Canada and Australia are not worth it. Lived there and know people who did so i know it for fact. Most people who leave US do so for family reasons, which is being closer to parents. That's what's my reason for leaving the US. If not that, I would run back to the US anyday. I would not mind being on H1 for life, it's better than other options. Think of US as a kid in class with score of 95/100. Second best score in class is 70/100 for a kid named Canada. Third being UK with 65, forth Europe/Australia with 60/100. There is a huge difference between first and second highest score. That's why you see people who move from UK to Canada or other way around don't complain much. Buy people who move to Canada/UK/Europe from US are always pissed and end up moving to US in 5 years or so. No country is perfect but if you ask me it's a good country despite all its issues. Ironically, I never really praised the US when I lived there, something which I realized after permanently leaving it.

Canadian moving to US in 1 week, im excited āœŒšŸ»

Qualtrics huƱnTr Apr 15

Canada to US is like Nepal to India. And then there's Mexico to US which is like Bangladesh to India.

Medtronic DEXE58 Apr 14

True. Need country caps on H1 tbh

Wayfair npeterson Apr 15

That's where it needs to be and not the green card, assuming you want diversity on people coming. Otherwise you just have a huge amount of Indians anyway, many of them feeling they'll never be able to plan long term here.

Postman RemotFirst Apr 16

There are 1.5 billion Indian so it gonna be huge number of Indians every where not just in US.

Amazon needmodoug Apr 14

You have nothing better to do?

Qualtrics huƱnTr Apr 14

Another weekend another ą¤—ą¤¾ą¤‚ą¤‚ą¤”ą„‚ ranting šŸ¤£ Go back to India Amazon. Only 2% ~ 32M Indians live outside of India. Some expats are in the US and others are in the rest of the world.

Google evenin Apr 14

Tell me you don't know anything about your country without telling me you don't know anything about your country? Do you have the slightest fucking idea how much is a full percentage of Indian population? And you are saying that there is not one, but TWO percent emigrants? Do you even know how large a number 32 million is? That is more than the entire sikh population of india.

Amazon usr2024 Apr 15

In europe many countries population is below 10 million, you're saying 32 million as a small number

Bloomberg l6ordone Apr 14

Baseless claims. Amazon leadership principles cry about using data to make claims. It "appears" to you that there are a lot more Indians that don't mean anything. I know a few people who left the country during the last AwS layoffs as they couldn't find a job before the grace period.

Meta weakdays Apr 14

There are too many white people in the US. 'Indians' are not happy.

Google evenin Apr 14

The ones who do not manage to get an H1B, they go out for an year and come back on L1. There are no caps on L1. Then there are people who spend 6 or 7 years on F1 visa alone. There are no caps on that either.

Qualtrics huƱnTr Apr 14

Go back to India. You're the backstabbing symbol of divide!

Roku rokuā¬‡ļø Apr 15

There are no caps because they are making ton of money for the govt.
