I feel sad for my wife as she has to deal with inhuman work culture. She is a new mom and working as a BA (Business Analyst) for an e-commerce company for 2 years. Unfortunately her company didn’t have paid maternity leave policy. She took one month of unpaid leave and returned to work (remote). After being remote for 3 months she was asked to come to office once a week which she is fine with. Now she is being asked to come to office 4 days a week. She has talked to her leadership several times that she can’t commit more than a day/week in-office. However she is being pressurized. Quitting the job is her last option. What would you suggest? Thanks for your response. She can’t get short term disability as she declined her company insurance in 2023 (pregnancy year) and was on my insurance. Does FMLA impact visa status (H1B)?
There are so many companies that have gone fully remote. Additionally, there can be some other options like FMLA, Short term disability that she can explore
