Im swe in my mid 30s, couple of kids, good wlb, mostly happy. Im not really interested in grinding and trying to get to the next position. Looking into doing the least amount of work for the most pay. I frequently get asked to partner up for different businesses or startup ideas which i mostly ignore or say i will look into it and dont. Am i just lazy bum or is feeling like this normal? Edit: i would rather spend that time with my kids and wife. TC: 🥜 210k but in midwest 🤷♂️ #culture
You’re doing good 😊 once kids are 13-14 and above ☝️ they won’t listen to you so spend time with them now, after that you just have to be there for them but they won’t need you , they will be more connected with their friends
Make sure you’re saving, and after that - it’s your priorities. I don’t think spending your time with your family makes you lazy
^ If your goal is to have a million bucks socked away for your kids for when they reach adulthood, you might not be earning enough. If your goal is to retire in your mid forties, you might not be earning enough. If your goal is building long term financial stability for yourself and your family, and you're maxing your 401k, and saving / investing on top of that? You're doing just fine.
