Anyone here from Wells Fargo? Need more information on "Technology Director role" It is bit confusing with banks using VPs and SVPs. Not sure a Technology Director reports to VP or other way around. Levels.fyi is not helpful Thanks TC $500K 22 yoe
VPs reports to tech director. It is first level manager role.
Thanks. That is helpful
At banks, VP is not a senior role. Directors generally report to managing directors or partners, depending on the bank. Bank VP ~ E5/6 in scope Director is usually the promo after VP
Thanks. A director would be a second level management then. Are there different director levels?
Not sure at WFC. There’s some combination of Director, Executive Director, and Managing Director depending on bank (ascending seniority). At MS for example, only the latter two exist.
Wells Fargo doesn’t have VP titles for tech. Director reports to Sr director.. are you getting $500k as new TC? Never imagined WF gives that much package
VP and Director at Wells are not in the same bucket. The former is the functional title that shows what level in the org. Typically at Wells, a Director has a team of Managers who have a teams under them...depending on the department. I'm a VP but I don't manage people and don't have the manager title, I'm at the highest level of Individual Contributors and I report to a Director.
Also to add....might be tough to get 500k TC as a Director at Wells, depending on location. Maybe in NYC or SF. But they don't hire in SF much anymore, and they only hire the highest level execs in NYC. Good Luck! Plus, I'm not in Tech at Wells, but heard the department is a shit show..lots of attrition and problems. Way behind on the tech curve as the company is investing lots of money into improving the technology currently.
What does Sr EM makes at WF in NYC and what does it map it to.
How is twilio these days?
