Received an offer for an engineering manager role in London. Not happy with TC and would appreciate some advice on how to negotiate. Base £105 Sign on bonus £7 Stock: $140 over 4 years Annual Bonus target %10 Is this a good offer for EM? Which part can I negotiate up and by how much? Thanks in advance YoE: 8 (3 as manager) Current TC £105 #engineering #yelp #london #offer
For a your non-tech YOE, that’s pretty decent offer for London. If TC is main objective, stay in US. Otherwise, you’ll have a fantastic experience in one of the best cities in the world, grow richer for it (not in pure financial terms), and may decide never to return.
I live in London.
Cool, then it ain’t bad. If you’re attracted to the role and company it’ll give you some good experience
I think you can negotiate a bit higher for EM. Maybe aim for 150K pounds TC.
Thanks. Do you know which is likely to increase, base or RSU?
Hey OP! Congrats on the offer! Is this M1 or M2? I've read someone saying that M1=IC3 and M2=IC4 and I've seen a recent London IC4 offer of 165k GBP TC.
Hey Tesco, no idea to be honest. Do you know how leveling works?
Your offer looks like M2 which should correspond to IC4. If I was you I would try to get ~65-70% of US IC4 tier 1 (~$325k according to levels fyi) + £15-20k signing bonus. IMO Especially RSU looks very low. I've DMed you too.
Scope to up your RSUs
What is the interview process with Yelp, London?
I think you can nego for 10% more
Thanks. Which part should I ask to increase?
Base & RSU i think
