Thumbtack and Angie leads are where construction companies find their leads. There is a review feature. How does the company stop fake reviews? I have seen blocking of temp email websites. How do they even know the email addresses are from temp websites? Are there any other controls in place? And how are people abusing the system?
You can't just write a review like you can with yelp or Google, you need to actually have gotten in touch with the pro via the platform. With Angi usually you can't actually control which pro gets your lead so it would.be hard to target a specific one. Both companies also have T&S teams that go after fake reviews.
This isn’t true. When you first sign up, you’re allowed to send as many invites as you want to “prior customers” and collect their reviews. Plenty of fake reviews from this.
Right, but I still can't just write a review for an arbitrary pro without that link. There are also badges to mark verified reviews to customers, and lots of internal processes use verified reviews only.
