Anyone here who stays in Canada but works remotely in US on H1B?

Wanted to connect with someone / be a part of a community where people work in US on H1B but reside in Canada.

Is this even allowed? Doesn't h1b require one to actually reside in the US, I mean the h1b petition itself has a US address which could be either office address or one's home address

I think it’s allowed as long as the work location/office is in the US. Then if your home address is Canada you should be fine?

You mean if someone lives in Canada close enough to the US border and commutes to their work location in US for work daily in order to work on their H1B visa ? Or did you mean some other scenario? Thanks

No more covid rules bro. I know At least in Covid time, OPT/STEM OPT students were allowed to work outside United states if employer can manage. It was removed in late 2022 or early 2023 I guess.

This is only possible through cross border commute. I did this while working at Ford motors. Lived in windsor, Canada and commuted to Detroit till I got my Canadian citizenship. Nexus card made the travel smooth. But you pay Canadian taxes.

3 years and yea a Canadian PR the whole time. Moved to US after applying for Canadian citizenship.
