Are we about to see a huge boom in India hiring for swe's?

Do you think we are. Going to see a huge boom in swe hiring in india with all the news like outsourcing of jobs at Google We all know when google does something, the rest follow. Should I as a frustrated, over worked, down-levelled engineer ( 3+ YOE) start interview preparation religiously to grab the opportunity coming to India's tech industry in next few months? I know we are work slaves and do grunt KTLO type work while our high IQ masters in USA do real innovation. I want to do the grunt work with good WLB and hopefully increase by TC by 50%. I am a very medicore software dev who was just lucky to get into FAANG Do you think it's possible? SDE L4 3 + YOE TC - 30 LPA

I am on a hiring spree currently from my org and yes we are off shoring a lot but frankly India isn't very high in the list. India isn't considered cheap anymore. New grads expect 30L, Sr expect 1Cr 😂😂😂 Most of my hiring efforts are currently in Brazil, Philippines, Vietnam, LATAM etc Off shoring to India only works when hiring consultant companies not individually full time ICs

This is exactly whats happening in DD as well, India is an offshore option but Brazil is the top destination now, Indian salaries are higher compared to Brazil… plus the timezone is more aligned

From my measly knowledge of industry, i think Indians generally can communicate well in English if they have done their schooling from a good ICSE affiliated school. My American peers have not complained about my accent or ability ro understand my thoughts but they often complain about chinese English Some indians who studied from lower board in school like CBSE and state boards have that heavy accent for which Indians are made fun of, and speak broken English. Are swe's from these countries fluent in English?

The companies I've been working for are offshoring mainly to Poland but that's anecdotal. India still has plenty of room to grow but definitely has a negative connotation to offshoring that holds it back.

Interesting, isn’t it?

Costa Rica and Argentina are way cheaper now and closer to the U.S. a lot of hiring happening there.

Remote work was fun while it lasted. If companies can get work done remotely, then why hire a $500k dinosaur in US when they can get 10 engineers for that price from offshoring! Do you think companies are not realizing it!
