Nuvia offer seems like a lowball going to Reject if they don’t bump. Is this a normal offer? Base 185 Rsu 260/4 Sign on 35 Location austin Cash target - 12% Current tc - 272k Yoe- 9
Count your blessings man
I believe it's a staff offer. If so, it looks good for your YOE (Maybe push base to $190k) . Sign on can be increased though..
When you say this offer is a lowball, what would you say is a fair offer?
Since its 12% bonus, it’s a Sr Staff offer
It's a Sr. Staff offer based on bonus target %. But it's a bit low given that you have only 9 years. You basically got bottom end of Sr. Staff. You can ask for 195k, but I am not sure if you'll get more than 190k. You can ask up to 300+/3 for RSU. And the signing bonus can go up to 75k. It used be much more, but QCOM has slowed down a bit since 2021/2022.
I'd say ask 360/3 for RSU. They will easily give you 300/3.
They are giving you a TC of 306.7k for year 1. If you increase the RSU by 30k/year and the income by $10k and bump up the sign on bonus, you'd increase that first year payout from 10% to 20% which would make your move more palatable. A 10% bump in TC is not sufficient for a move unless you're in a bad situation.
I was wrong. 10% bonus target and 260/3 . Pushed it to 300/3 but was not able to move anything else. Got 150k/4 Retention at current job and expecting a bump in September which means I get no raise basically. So refused to take the offer. Pissed the recruiter off big time.
The offer was good by QCOM standards then. 180k staff with 300/3 for 9 yoe is good in QCOM specially if you live in Austin.. Maybe signing bonus could have been improved. Too bad we couldn't get you. 150k/4 means your base must be high for you to hit that TC? What is your cash target at Apple?
QCOM RSUs are always 3 years. Can you double-check on that?
