So I am considering a move away from my 8+ year career for a marketing director role at an “start-up” like financial advisory firm that’s expanding nationwide and has made 1B. I currently make 136K TC with 105K base. I believe the new job will either match or go slightly above. I want to ask for 150K TC with a base of 125K. I know I’m essentially taking over their social media, brand, and content strategy. The more we talk, potentially media, event support, website and paid ads are involved. I’ve communicated that we need a small team to at least get that vision done and the President is on board. I feel like I want to maximize the opportunity but not come off greedy or come up short either. Thoughts?

Sounds like the expectation is that you’re going to be wearing all the hats for the foreseeable future, and should be comped accordingly…
