These days the typical TC range for senior developers at FAANG is around $400K~$600K. Someone told me that these figures are so much inflated. Even just 10 years ago, the top software companies were only paying $120K~$180K for similar talents, which is 3.3X appreciation. On the contrary, over the same period the minimum wage in the Us has only doubled (2X). Is this true? It’s kinda hard to believe. And if so, do you think this trend going to continue? #apple #meta #google #microsoft #amazon
You have to look at the profit per dev. We have a low overhead but high profit product potential
Look at CEO salaries last 10 years
Wealth gap widening is a true story.
Back then the profit was lower for software companies. Now its more than every sectors combined
People aren't getting jobs lol
Meta prints money, makes more profit than apple per engineer, of course we should be rewarded with a fair share
Yes, it’s true. No, it won’t continue.
Thanks. Do you see housing prices in the Bay Area and Seattle is going to be affected by this?
I think we’re approaching the ceiling for property value in the Bay Area. I’m sure there will still be growth but I don’t see it 2xing in the next 10 years. Seattle probably has a bit more room to grow.
