1 year promo to SDE 2 at Amazon, looking outside
I just got promoted to SDE 2 within 1 year 3 months out of college. I am super driven and looking for hyper growth opportunities. What companies should I target? 1 YOE TC: 190k LC: 350

Companies like Facebook. However some companies might down level u back to their L3/new grad equivalent if they can offer u a TC bump, because u only have 1.25 YOE.
I know Google downlevels a lot, does FB downlevel too? Amazon SDE 2 bar should be similar across rest of FAANG.
It’s not only your yoe ... You made sde2 because your better than most sde1s You prob wouldn’t cut it as sde2 external hire that needs to be better than most sde2s I’d be really surprised if you get considered to l4 at fb or google Best advice in your case? Imo - get to two years at least before you look at other faang or consider startup if your really a 10x guy

Right place, right time and right set of mindset I guess. Got lucky with greenfield projects, was able to prove myself quickly and leadership was seeing it. Half of it is luck.
