I had my H1B visa interview in Chennai and was handed a blue slip saying I needed administrative processing. Anyone else who experienced this? How long does it usually take to get resolved?
What is your total YOE and YOE at current employer? While handling blue slip for what are all did they put tick mark?
Are you a full time SWE? What's your salary? I wonder if either of those two were concerns. And I'm guessing this was change of status and not consular notify.
Yes, 110k+. Yes it was a change of status. Does that matter?
If i may ask are you muslim ? Sometimes name search flag some candidates
Nope
My friend got last month and they asked to submit project related details, once submitted on given mail id, got the approval in 4 days. 221G seems very common these days
Can you tell me how long after the interview was your friend contacted for info?
What questions were you asked in the interview? Did you feel at any point in the interview that officer was not satisfied with your questions ??
Just basic questions like salary, university etc. No docs were asked. In fact he took the blue slip at the beginning of the interview.
I got 221G first time when I went for consulate interview. It was cleared after 6 months. Majority of the cases would be cleared within 60 days. What did they ask in the interview and did they request any documents from you ?
Just asked me basic questions about salary and such. They took my passport and didn’t request any docs. 6 months is way too long.
That was my first time to US. Shouldn't take too long for you. Sit tight, there's nothing you could do to expedite. Keep watching your status on CEAC site.
Yes it's the new normal. 6-8 weeks. Enjoy the stay in homeland.
Did you experience this?
