$250k TC at Walmart Labs (L4) possible?

I was speaking with an internal recruiter. I refused to throw out a number. They finally told that L4 (eq. to Senior SWE) can get 250k TC.

It seemed... surprisingly high, not gonna lie.

    We pay surprisingly well. I'm actually taking a slight pay cut in order to go from X6 principal to L5 engineering manager at Google.

      If you compare it to google or fb, at year 4 in wmt is when you’ll get 90k, (not counting new hire grant)
      at google and fb you get your initial grant plus 3/4 of a single year’s worth of refreshers.

      But at G you also get refreshers every year and they stack on top of new hire grant which is significantly higher. May be I am missing something ...

      At Walmart, just to be clear, is your hiring RSU grant dollar amount typically the same as the ones you receive in subsequent years?

      For x6, when you say 90k/yr do you mean it’s 360k in RSUs spread over 4 years?

      Or does it mean that you get a single 90k grant, which is actually 22.5k/yr?

      Sorry I’m dumb. It’s probably the former but just want to be crystal clear. I’m talking numbers tomorrow.

      Gotcha. So it’s really 22.5k each year then, from a single grant. (But of course, they ladder and you get grants in the future, etc).

      Hopefully they offer me a generous RSU package then. Thanks!

      Easy way to understand is, from the beginning of the 5th year, you get exactly 90K per year (= 4 * 90 / 4) assuming you are still a X6

    Realistic numbers for x4 will be 150 base, 40K RSU, 20% bonus. This "modest" estimate itself reaches 220K. The recruiter can't change the 40K rsu and 20% bonus, but that 150K can be stretched a little. The highest I have heard for x4 is 170. But even without all that, a modest 30K joining bonus itself will hit the 250K for the first year

      In unrelated convos, I was told L4 has a 20% bonus target and 80k/4 yrs stock.

      So 170 base / 34k bonus / 20k stock adds up to 224k.

      If I had to guess, that’s probably peak base. The bonus structure is tied to the level (non negotiable). There is probably the opportunity to negotiate for more stock to get to 250k.
