How can we make 30 hours per week the new standard? Reality is that with kids and a working wife there just aren’t enough hours in the day to work, take care of kids, and take care of oneself. The Fair Labor Standards act set 40 hours as the standard, and we are in dire need of an update.
Come to workday, there are lots of team with unofficial 30 hr week. Not much workload anyways.
Is workday not doing well? I have a friend that works there 🙃
it’s like many other WLB focused company, 20% of good performers here carry 20% of deadweight. The other 60% is just meeting expectations. Except that ME here is much easier to achieve than companies like FB or NFLX. The product isn’t trying to solve a hard technical problem, so you aren’t required to make an impact, just do whatever PM asks and you’ll be promoted on annual perf review. Life is very easy here.
Kids are for rich and unemployed
Are you willing to take 25% pay cut? How will your company make a profit if the have to pay 25% more to get work done?
Hours at work is not proportional to work done
I'm willingly, yes
Totally agree.
Hey, corporations have a right to profit. How dare you ask for the right to take care of your children at the expense of your corporation!
Capitalism is killing us.
