New grad. Is it a livable salary? Want to live in the city center. Opinions from Pittsburghers welcome.

Nice brag! Congrats! I used to live and work in Pittsburgh, my salary was less than 30k and even now with all of my experience I wouldn’t be able to get anything more than 60k there.

Nice, do you know anything about canonsburg. The company that I'll work for(Ansys) is located in a place called southpointe. I want to live in a place with hustle and bustle.

Yep, I’ve been to southpointe a couple times. It’s small but pretty nice. Do you plan on commuting from downtown Pittsburgh?

I lived in pgh a few years if you have specific downtown questions. But yes you can get a whole 4bd for 1.4k/mth

Google was doing this a couple years ago. I can only imagine they pay the same or higher now.

Are you sure you’re not describing Seattle?

You'll be all good. Check out neighborhoods like south side, lawerenceville and Oakland.

  • Pittsburgh does not have a city center as you expect it. Downtown shuts down at night. There are several city neighborhoods with high walkability. Maybe checkout Lawrenceville?
