Anyone have insight about the media industry in ATL? Is it worth moving there? I’ve only worked in LA and DC.
Oh, that’s right.
Turner is a pretty large employer in Atlanta on the media side. And with the AT&T acq. they are growing
Wow, did not know about that acq. I used to work for DIRECTV, which got bought by AT&T.
Ya Time Warner which is now WarnerMedia owns Turner and was bought by AT&T
Which company are you looking at?
Not a particular company, but I guess the big ones are Turner, Weather Channel, CNN, Tyler Perry Studios. How is Cox Media there?
Turner + HBO + WarnerBrothers is now WarnerMedia (under AT&T). Change is in the air there - att is carrying a load of debt as a result of the merger it wants to reduce. Belt tightening appears to be on the horizon. Weather Channel is now part of IBM.
If you’re okay with the absurdity that comes along with millennials and/or celebrities getting their feelings hurt and threatening to no longer work in Georgia because of the abortion law, then it’s great. Although, similar to when celebrities “vowed” to leave the U.S. if Trump was elected, it won’t happen.
Companies have already moved because of those laws. It's not absurd to want to treat your employees well by not subjecting them to harsh laws.
