I have a recruiter asking me if I would rather be a financial analyst or a data analyst. I need to think about it pretty hard, as I’m switching from accounting (3 years). I want to make sure my new adventure is one that is fulfilling and purposeful to me. I would say I’m a pretty social person (accounting is the complete opposite of social from what Ive seen) and I love analyzing things, investing/investments and, being able to automate things. I’ve been learning tableau, azure, SQL, R, Python etc. My ultimate goal; is to be able to gain enough business and programming experience that once quantum computing becomes viable - I want to roll it out and be able to lead a team/org to convert the world. What are the differences between a data analyst and finance analyst. Who would get to make organizational/business decisions and become a leader?
At Amazon, the managers make the decisions. Go data analyst; it’s more general.
$ is the difference. Data analysis can get you more money especially if you have a masters.
