How does AWS compensate sellers? Do are they paid on consumption?
AWS resellers get 7% of their customers total spend but are required to pay for business support. Kinda a wash until you get into the millions of dollars a month in AWS spend amongst your customers. This is due to the bulk discounts you get with business level support. AWS expect their Partners to make most of their money off of managed services. They don't care for or take kindly to Sellers and they don't need it. 85% of their business is run rate. People just put in credit cards in and spending money.
If you want to play in their space you have to bring value and if you don't then you get steamrolled.
