Have an offer in hand from AWS for an outbound marketing role with TC230 - which is quite a big jump up from where I was at Microsoft. Facebook is now showing interest for an internally facing marketing role and want to do a formal loop. I feel great about the AWS offer but am curious about what Facebook could offer me. If you could choose between AWS and Facebook, what would you pick and why? I feel like AWS is still growing like crazy so may be a smarter strategic move and the FB brand has been damaged some over the last year or two. Curious what the community thinks...
Internally facing marketing? Sounds like a polite word for propaganda. I vote AWS.
Yeah that’s about the best phrase I could find for it without unblinding myself.
What’s the role exactly?
At FB? It’s a marketing/PMM role supporting products used by internal employees.
I say Facebook buddy and it’s not even close. Facebook is just known as a company that has a higher quality workforce than Amazon. And more room for higher TC down the line.
What’s your yoe
AWS in a heartbeat
PMM at Facebook is not internal. They work on marketing strategies and planning for a particular surface/product. Might or might not involve external stakeholders, but definitely a high visibility role and super cross functional. Rest assured - Money, Peers, Promotion and Perks - Fb trumps Amazon hands down. Go for it!
FB
FB no brainer
Why though?
