Hi folks, had a minor accident and the other party involved was completely at fault ( they admitted ). During that time I realized my auto insurance had not auto renewed and I was technically without insurance for two weeks. To file a claim against the other person, would I need to submit my insurance? I dont have major damage to my car, but would like to repair the bumps regardless.
That’s ok. There are two cases I can think of. First call your insurance company. They usually had some grace period. Even if it is not the case, you have the choices to deal with the other insurance company directly. If they admit it is their fault, they can pay you directly without going through your insurance company. I recently had a minor incident and deal with the other insurance company directly
^Most insurance have grace periods that retroactively go in effect once you make your payment. It could be as little as 2 weeks. Go online and pay it right way, so it doesn't lapse and cancel from the late date. Note what your deductible is, $500, $1000, it may not be worth claiming property damage on your insurance. But since the other is at fault it is their insurance that is supposed to cover it.
Dude, I take it back. Totally your fault, and now I know you don’t have insurance, imma gonna getcha...
Looking at some posts on Blind I wish law enforcement and immigration employees were here. Or may be they are already here.
Call the other persons insurance directly and make a claim. Don’t involve your insurance in this incident. It just gives them reason to up your rates.
Don’t claim
You don’t need your insurance to file a claim against the other party. As long as they admit fault you file a claim with *their* insurance
FFS, you work for google. You can certainly afford your insurance. Why the fuck did you let it lapse? Put it on autopay, dumbass.
This guy renews
I’ve had things lapse before. Credit card I used for like 4 renewals finally stopped working (the number had changed due to getting new cards, but the old number worked for awhile) The other time an insurance lapsed it was because they just ‘lost’ the card authorization. I don’t know how the hell that happens, but they literally just no longer had any record of my card number ‘on file’
His fault, his insurance. Work with them.
Don't claim.
