Affordability of a Model 3
Wife and I commute in opposite directions. Got 2 cars between us. All paid off. Looking to upgrade 1 of them as that car requires more maintenance, but not sure if it would be a good financial move to get a Model 3 or something like a civic. need opinions. Total TC: 310k No Loan No House / Mortgage yet. looking to buy in the coming year

If you can put in a charger at your home (Something as simple as a NEMA 14-50 works) then get the 3.
Model 3 and home charger
Have a Model 3 and have never charged at home. Charging at work is free. Plus Tesla superchargers everywhere. Free supercharging miles from referral also help. $0 cost of ownership for the past 6 months - 0 in gas or electricity and car servicing is once in 2 years!
Don’t rely on regular supercharging. It would fuck up your car battery. Supercharging depreciates battery life sooner than normal chargers because of high current. Ask Tesla, they’ll say the same thing. Heck read the manual, it says the same thing.
Agree. 95% of the time is the free charging at work.
Model 3 is equivalent to a Camry in 3 years.
A Camry in 3 years might be equal to model 3 today but not a model 3 in 3 years ;)
