After tax to Roth 401K or Roth IRA?

My current plan doesn't have a brokerage option, which is the advantage of the IRA. I do think ERISA protection is important, but wondering thoughts on moving my after tax to the 401K with low fees or IRA?

For the convert to Roth via the megabackdoor does keeping it in the 401K Roth make sense or roll it over to anRoth IRA.. my plan allows

It depends what are the options in your plan. In my case, the options in the Roth 401k are pretty good so I can leave it in there

Prefer to convert from after-tax 401k to Roth IRA instead of Roth 401k because with 401k you are required to take distributions at 70. IRA has no such requirement.

Good point. Also stocks are available IRA. But may not have ERISA protection .

Do you still qualify for Roth IRA? They start tapering max contribution at 117k income and won't allow any contribution at all once you hit around 135k

Backdoor Roth is allowed. Fund Traditional non-deductible IRA and immediately convert
