Haven’t seen many posts from that that age range here. Are most over 50 executives and don’t want to post? Are most pushed out of top tech companies or not hired to begin with? Honestly curious peoples’ perspective.
Well I'm 37 and feel like a grandma in the tech industry.
Ditto
Those folks (rank and file) are not working. They retired.
I'm in my mid thirties but the majority of the folks I work with are in their 50's+. They are basically setup with good comp and really good pensions so they don't want to leave. They're not exactly the type to use Blind though hahaha.
Almost there although I am still a frat boy trapped inside. Many becomes managers, application engineers, program managers, salespeople, specialists like principal engineers, and then a lot of then decided to leave and do real estate agents, mortgage financing, or just unemployed and drive uber or lyft.
Amazing, just like how I was thinking!
They are either rich and retired or poor and working at Intel
50 is not old once you get to 50, unless you bought into bit coin or google at startup you would not likely have the money to retire by 50. You cannot even collect from a 401k without penalties until 59 1/2.
You can withdraw the principal, which is partly how I'm planning to do it.
I'm over 40. I joined blind just to see what people could possibly be talking about. When I started browsing, I immediately found the content to be about 5% useful and 95% utter garbage. self flattery, salary comparison, complaining, trolling... It reeked of "millenial" Then I saw the age poll recently and it was confirmed. Simply put, age 40 and up seem to have better things to do.
Whatever I’m almost 48
Most probably aren’t that much into getting into an app and posting.
