Amazon AWS - Seattle Vs Arlington - TPM L6

Recruiter called me for starting interview for TPM L6. The position is available at seattle as well as Arlington. Any suggestion on which one to go for? Pros vs cons? YOE14. Currently in Atlanta.

Stay the hell away from Arlington. I live down there and the already bad traffic is gonna quadruple once Amazon moves in. Plus Seattle is a better pace of life. Everyone in and around DC is too busy.

If he’s an Amazon employee and gets a place literally in Arlington, or in DC/MD that’s on a metro line the traffic issue is moot no?

I suppose yes, but only if he takes the train. Busses are stuck in traffic too

Go to Seattle, as a TPM it’s better to be in HQ

Arlington is HQ2, better to go in newer office, should be easier to climb up the ladder Also Arlington is cheaper and much less rain

Nah Seattle still has way more opportunities.

How is Atlanta? Is it a good place to live compared to Seattle, Bay Area?

Indeed it is. I have not stayed in Seattle or California but have tons of friends there. I am in Atlanta for 10 years and it is a great place to live and work. My friends who visited from bay areas said the same. Nice weather. Low cost of living. Unfortunately the job profile i am looking for in FAANG, are not here.
