Hi guys. does anyone knows about Alexa ASR (automatic speech recognition) engine group in Boston? Like what kind of work they are exactly doing?
Yep; NLU, ASR, etc. essentially,to know more you’d need to join one of the Alexa teams. :)
Politics out the asshole.
How come? Please elaborate if you can.
There are a lot of managers in the org who have been promoted on their technical strengths but lack any people management skills. They take the easy way out on performance reviews by just rating everyone to a bell curve.
They're not doing shit because Alexa has gotten worse in 3 years of use
A large part of the Alexa team is based out in Cambridge MA
like how many people? Dose Seattle a better place for Alexa?
The team at Cambridge is the worst team you can imagine. They dont value their employees at all and most of the managers dont have people managing skills .
I have heard fro friends who work over there that Seattle ASR engineeringg teams is shit, too much politics under a very incompetent L7
I heard they work on speech recognition and stuff
I read the same thing very recently, can’t recall where though.
