Interviewing for Amazon in Europe for a Senior TPM role. Amazon is asking for current and expected comp (broken down no less) before on site. Is this normal? Am I ok to withhold current comp? Should I give expected comp up front? How to play this...
Iโm pretty sure itโs illegal in Europe
It illegal in USA as well . Just share target expected or you open to negotiation
Share targeted comp. You want to make sure you donโt waste both peopleโs time if theyโre interviewing for a junior role and youโre applying for senior role.
Amazon has a rule to not ask for current comp, idk who is asking you this but they shouldn't be.
Say your current comp is confidential as per agreement with your current employer. Asking for TC is completely legal in Europe(at least in country I live).
This is exactly how I responded. Kicking off the first phone interview today. โWould love to understand the role more in terms of scope, functions, accountabilities, etc. but I expect a competitive total compensation on par with the other top companies and aligned to my qualifications and what I bring to the business.โ
Well stated :)
P.S. not sure about Europe but I believe eng Base is fixed at 160k and it is RSU that move things up.
My philosophy is to ๐๐๐
You'll do well at Amazon.
Your interview has begun already... They want to see how u respond to an edgy question like this.
Don't tell.
