Is this cool off period equal to non-compete? Saw a 18M non-compete clause. Is that often enforced?

No, cool off periods are not for SWE’s... they just word it in a weird way to scare the crap out of pple. Only employees who have access to confidential information go under cooling period.

Since you’re asking about it, you’re fine. You should have received an email otherwise.

Unless you’re working on sensitive data like finances, accounting, executive role, etc. Usually (most of the time) it’s not for SWE. That’s what I meant

I get preached to on the daily about sensitive nature of designs and directions in AWS. Additionally, we have access to every metric in amazon, many of which are very sensitive.

What about OP1 docs and such?

If you haven’t received any official emails saying “mister X Y, you are on a cool off period from A to B”, then this means you’re not. The data you’re dealing with is not critical for inside trading. You’re fine...

I think OP was talking about recruitment cool off periods, not stock trading windows (and every employee at amazon gets a generic insider trading email detailing the windows and no trade times).

I’m fairly sure sales numbers and growth metrics are insider trading prone.
