im fairly new to amazon. My observation is that amazonians think they are smartest jus because their company is successful. expecially tenured employees bragging about amazon culture and jeff. it annoys me. ok. bye. good night !
I want to disagree and commit to this post
What the shit man.
Hmm
TC or .....
Their leadership principles are pretty dope though...
Haha i have seen candidates getting selected at amazon who failed elsewhere and then they started feeling they are the best. Compared to other FAANGs, bar is relatively low, especially for new grads. I have a friend at amazon who desperately wants to get out of Amazon but sadly he is unable to crack any interview outside 😐. There are smart people as well in amazon and that is why its so successful but when a company grows that fast, sometimes hiring bar gets low.
I dunno ... higher level loops are pretty hardcore from my experience and friends (can’t speak to new grad)
Just look around you and count haw many of your friends work at amazon and how many of them for rest of the faang!! When I graduated, about 13-14 ppl from my university were joining amazon (i knew 13-14, could be more actually), but when i counted google, apple, fb, Netflix..they were less that 15 counted together.
I saw the same sort of arrogance at Microsoft in the 90’s when we were the 500 pound gorilla everyone talked about and feared. They’ll get humbled by something at some point.
Their interview process being grueling + the compensation package being big makes them think they're the shit. Unless they see the other side (ruining families) they won't understand. Source: former Amazonian here.
What is so gruelling about amzn interviews? They pretty standard or even easier then others. Source: also former amazonian.
I have a good friend from grad school who started there a few years ago and she's totally turned into an Amazon drone... And she's not that kind of person. I guess it's just the culture there must infect you
You're new and already hate the place? You'll fit right in
Very, very true
Your comment sounds contradictory at first glance but it is very true
