My friend recently received an offer from AWS for their marketplace team. Upon asking if there was any room for negotiation wrt to TC, the recruiter asked for the expected TC and said they will work on it and get back. That was a week ago, the recruiter did respond a couple of times saying they work on it and get back. Does it normally take that long for a no or yes to the negotiation process? Base: 80K RSU:10 Sign-on Bonus:10K and 6K Asked for first-year TC to be around 105K Or should they be worried about the delay?? Asking for a friend since they are a new grad.
If it’s Engineering role it’s way too less. If it’s marketing role, then what they offered is a good salary. 105k is damn good salary. Again this is for starters with no experience.
90K was what was given. 105K was what was asked for. Yet to hear back regarding that. YoE:3.5
With 3.5 YoE 105k is a good bet. While many claim 105k is low here on blind, SDEs and tech folks gets these large TCs. But Amazon would be able to get back with your expectation or close to expectation like 100K. While people judge me how I know the info, I make 260k TC but my SO works in marketing and makes 65k with 1 YoE for a big tech firm. My SO and I live in Bay Area. So yeah, ask reasonably and your 105k is reasonable. Try to stick to that and wait for recruiter to get back. I know it is so tempting to mail recruiter and find out the status but patience helps sometimes.
What’s the role and location? This seems pretty low
Seattle TAM: I am guessing L4. It was not mentioned anywhere as to the role. Which is what they thought, and that was the logic behind asking for an increase in RSUs and Signon.
Gotcha, for an L4 TAM, or probably associate TAM in this case, that isn’t bad. Might be able to get a little more but probably not much since it’s not an engineering role and for college grad with little to no experience.
