Amazon onsite feedback

Oct 29 10 Comments

I interviewed for amazon last week. I gave perfect solution to 3 rounds coding questions. I struggled a bit in OOD round.Yesterday my application status went to no longer under consideration. I didn't get any update yet from the recruiter. Does this mean reject?

I got the reject ,recruiter mentioned my coding was not upto the bar it seems and LP answers were good. All the coding questions were straight forward (2 binarysearch, 1 priority queue) and from leetcode. I have no idea what they are looking for .

It might have LPs. For 2 questions i didnt face that kind of situation in my life. So said the same he was okay with that. Even the role doesn't require any exp.

Yea, that’s probably not an acceptable answer for LPs. You should’ve prepared better, some people make up situations if they haven’t faced them before.

To be clear - especially depending on the level you interviewed the fact you solved the problems - ain’t enough

You are expected to discuss options , ask correct questions , complexity , pros and cons of objects etc

Especially that the questions (at least I was presented with during an l6 loop) were not straight up clear when presented.

Plus bar raiser prob gave a no on your ood/ system design

Not definite reject. My status went to "no longer under consideration" on a Thursday, and I got an email Friday night with an offer. My guess is that it just means they've made a decision, and there is some amount of time between when they make the decision and when they communicate it. Although I'm sure the longer that gap is, the more likely it's a rejection
