I interviewed at Amazon last month for a PMT position but I didn't get an offer. After that, two more recruiters contacted me on linkedin (separately for different positions) for possible match but once they looked me up in their system, they said they can't move further cause I interviewed for a similar position recently. How long does this blacklist (?) last? When can I interview at Amazon again for similar or different positions? Also, I just came to know that when they turned me down for PMT position, their feedback was that they recommended me for "Solution Architect" position instead. What are those positions? Is it a good area? Please don't reply with 'Amazon is a shit company and I shouldnt work for them anyway.'

It varies. 1.5 years is if you totally bombed. They might also say 6mo or 1yr.

Cool down period varies and is determined by the interviewers on the loop. In my experience, it's been 1-2 years. Others have reported as short as 6 months but I can't confirm it myself.
Typically tech companies have a "cooldown period" that's what you ask the recruiter about. It's usually between 6mo to a yr at most companies I interviewed with.
As long as you have unique skillset, you can break any rule. I encountered a dickhead in Amazon L5 loop. I challenged him (LP: having backbone) and He failed me. Recruiter told me I have 1 year cool down period. Two months later, another Amazon recruiter contacted me to interview L6 SDM role.
As others stated it is more of a depends on the result of the first. In your case it was a clear not inclined for PMT role, thus it could be 6mo, 12, or 18mo. Depends how strongly they felt about you one way or another. However, as noted by others you could still pursue another job title and move forward. Recruiting should do a check before reaching out but in their rush to find potential fits they clearly sometimes reach out first and then check second for prior experience/loops. Less than ideal and frustrating if you are truly interested. But hey either wait for 6mo. Or find potential architect roles that seem of interest.
The thing is, I don't have any architect background. So when I heard that they recommended me for Solution architect positions, I was surprised. Maybe I don't know I have that in me? I am currently PMT at Samsung if that matters
Well that's tougher to understand then. I could see debate on PMT and TPM, because there can be a fair amount of cross-over depending on the company or org. But a role you've never done before seems more odd and maybe recruiter wasnt looking closely at the recommendation or mixed up candidates. Dunno. Best advice is to stick with a role/JD that you are excited or passionate about and if PMT at Amazon is something you aspire to, then wait a few more months and try again.

It depends on what your loop outcome was. If 'recycle' then it can be as quick as 1-2 months. If anything else, 6-9 months. If no hire with reservation due to massive inconsistencies then never.
What is recycle? Do they have flagging system in their recruiting software?
Why not just ask the recruiters?
I asked the original recruiter who turned me down, she said there is no such thing. But apparently she gave me the wrong info. I asked other recruiters who contacted me after, they didn't reply.
