Hi there, A recruiter reached out to me regarding opportunities in Amazon search team at Palo Alto. It's for a SDE role which says about 5 years of industry experience. I'm a master's graduate with about less than 2 years of experience. I'm wondering if I'd be considered for the role or not. Please let me know your thoughts. Also, please shed some light on the level of interviews for this team. Leetcode medium? Thanks in advance! Have a great week :)
Was the Recruiter named Julian ? 😏
No, why? Didn't she respond?
was it Lindsey?
The recruiter hasn't responded yet. This is not the first time I'm experiencing this from an Amazon recruiter!
Amazon has outsourced the recruiting of search team to some Indian Staffing company. They don't check email and just call you at random times and threw out questions at you without knowing what they are asking. I can only hear the sleepy voice with a few broken words from 1 AM Bangalore. They don't even understand anything about IT and just shoot out questions. How do you scale? ( bla bla ... then he told me to use Load balancer, yeah, thanks for the bullshit question and answer) How do you continuously improve? (I don't know the scope of this question, I believe these questions are dumb, please define .. thank you for you time and hang up..)
@PaaniPuri, May I know why you were leaving IBM and looking for new job? Sorry to ask this but I have interviews scheduled from both IBM and Amazon search
Thats A9 Team near Caltrain Station You will be considered for SDE-1 Leetcode Medium doesn’t matter. You should be able to explain your approach, write code, Explain test cases, Explain complexity, Explain scalability! Good luck!
How would you recommend preparing for behavioral interview(leadership principals stuff)?
HR will explain that to you before onsite! Search for Amazon Leadership Principals and associate your projects with those! Come up with examples on how to applied one or more of those in your previous projects.
