Hi folks, I am currently working as Business Analyst at Amazon. For some unreasonable reasons I have got LE rating during my first year review. So I started looking outside and now I have got offer from Target for Sr Analyst. Is it worth it to move from Amazon to Target? Or should I stick at Amazon and try to improve my rating until next review and then look for internal switch after that? Any suggestions are welcome.
My manager told before leaving company
What's LE? Can somebody please explain?
Least effective
Less than expectations?
I don’t know anything about Target but I did try working at a couple of non-tech companies in the past and I was disappointed with the culture. You might want to make sure you’ll get all of the invisible cultural perks we enjoy at the big tech companies before you move. e.g. autonomy, emphasis on a growth mindset and learning, flexibility of hours and working from home, and high trust (or at least the perception that team members trust each other).
Work life balance is great. Target is a tech company. Engineers are not just first class citizens, they're the only citizens. No PMs, little red tape, you just build and make good happen.
If you are LE....
The vesting schedule is much fairer. But analysts are few and far between for a reason. Only highly technical people are promoted. There is no ladder for an analyst. I would suggest taking advantage of the tuition reimbursement if you do come on board, so you can build a runway to a role with a ladder.
For those of us who are already analysts at Target, care to share TC? I'm at 90k, 10%, no stock. I don't know about whether you should stick it out at Amazon, but Target culture is can be team- and location-dependent -- even between different analysts.
Tc or gtfo
Which level were you offered?
How do you know you got an LE rating? Managers don’t tell you right?
