Not sure how many marketers are here, but wondering if anyone had any insight about generally what a better landing spot is for a marketer: Amazon or Microsoft. Let's assume TC is roughly equal. Curious about culture, interesting work, upward and lateral mobility. Thanks!
None. Try Albertson's.
Eh I heard Albertsons has gone down hill since the Safeway merger.
It depends on the team at MS Marketing. I’ve heard horrible stories about the culture at O365 but Azure Marketing has a great culture. It all comes down to your individual team and I don’t have any experience of AWS to provide comparative data...
I dunno, but we pay Common to yell AI! at the camera so...
Avoid office marketing. Very political and no real impact.
You mean Microsoft office marketing? Or marketing in general?
Apparently you need to do more homework on what MICROSOFT marketing orgs are out there. Office is a product and yes it is Microsoft office marketing
Avoid C+E (cloud and enterprise) marketing at Microsoft
Interesting, why do you say avoid cloud for marketing?
Not cloud for marketing. Marketing for cloud and industry. The people inside neither understand cloud nor industry and draw ire from everyone else for putting out non-sensical and ineffective messaging
Does Microsoft outsource marketing?
I just made the switch from microsoft to AWS. Probably too early to tell which is “better” as it will also likely depend on what team you’re on. At Microsoft I had great wlb. From what I can tell it’s no different in my new team at AWS. Culture does appear to be a bit geekier which I appreciate.
Any recommendations on good teams in AWS?
Can’t really answer this just yet but feel free to reach out again in a few months if it would be helpful!
