In the off chance that we have expert personal finance FAANGers here, are there any companies that allows you to decline their group disability income insurance? Reason is that I have personal DI policy, top of the line, portable, and I can't exercise my option to increase the limit because of the group plan. Yes, this is a HR issue. Please give employees the option to reject group DI plans, they will never be better than personal DI.
You can always write in to decline free coverage but why on earth would you decline free money if ever needed?
Why is it a problem to have 2 DI policies? You get the same total coverage either way.
Can't imagine working for a company (or not) strictly based on that. I'm not knowledgeable, how much does that amount to during a year? As much as I spend on pizza?
Google lets you downgrade it such that it doesn’t cost you anything.
Sounds like you can reduce coverage but not eliminate it completely?
Yep, I believe that’s the case.
