I took a stand and got terminated lol
I had a Microsoft offer quite a time back but due to personal situation I couldn’t able to join at last minutes. I even informed HM at that time and he suggested to let know once my situation improves. He seems to be real nice manager at that time and I was determined to work with him. Now I tried dropping mail to same HM but no response. May be he left or don’t know. I tried emailing my recruiter but no response as well. Shall I go ahead apply at careers again or am I blacklisted even if my reasons were very genuine, I got evidence supporting it. Please advice.
When did you send your emails? Since there was a holiday last week there’s a chance at least one of them was missed or they haven’t gotten to it. How long ago are we talking? One or the other might not be around. Do you know someone at MS to check? Or maybe look them up on LinkedIn to see if they still seem at the company. That role is likely filled but the manager might have a new one. If you end up talking with another recruiter they can see your history.
I last talked to HM 3 months back. I dropped two emails couples of week back with a gap of week but no response. Other recruiters contacted me from different Orgs but I didn’t responded as I’m not sure whether it’s ethical. I’ll respond them based on opinions on this thread. I just want to make sure my HM didn’t see this as some unethical move as I ensured him that I’ll get back once my situation got better.
Why don’t you just explain the situation to one of these recruiters and tell them you’re still interested in the previous role if that team is still hiring, and you’re also open to learning more about new roles.
Hm may not have headcount. You should send an email, let him know what you’re interested in (eg what did you like about original role) and ask if he has any peer teams that may be a good fit.
I doubt seriously that you are black listed. There is a very real chance that the recruiter has moved to a new role or is no longer in the company. Just apply online and tell that recruiter the story once you are screened. No need to get into personal details or provide proof. It happens all the time and isn’t a big deal (seems like a big deal to you but it’s not - life happens)
Whatever you do, make sure it’s the needful.
But only after you revert.
