Now that you are in, what do you think about Zume? do you regret or happy joining ? Thinking to interview with them, but have very little info about their financials, current state of their tech stack. Will appreciate any feedback
Hopefully it'll be nothing like what happened to us at Zune.
Pizza is terrible
agree. I used to be a fan of their pizza 2-3 years back in mountain view but the stuff you get these days is both more expensive and untasty af. I wonder what happened...
Agreed. The pizza is bad. They are neither pizza nor robotics. They should pivot and make n sell robots.
I'm interested in what their engineering culture is like. Majority of them are bootcamp grads. Even management came from a bootcamp
Tech stack is mostly GCP, node.js, Vue.js. They're in active conversion to TypeScript. My info is just from interviewing with them. They made me an offer but it wasn't very attractive even though I really rocked the interview and they liked me AF. Given that you're currently at LinkedIn I doubt they'd make you a good offer comp-wise.
Well, as a current engineer of Zume located in Seattle, I think I can give you some insight. Pros: No bureaucracy, fast paced, a lot of opportunities for you to actually make something interesting. You will also get chances to make decisions and get experience with a lot of cutting edge technology here. Cons: Unmature process, project management is usually a problem. No one has similar experience before so basically you need to take initiative to figure out the business requirement with PMs and many other teams together. Personally I am happy about working at Zume. Currently we use GCP, Node.js, Vue.js, K8s, Jenkins. For financials, currently we are partnered with some companies to provide either some services or e2e solution. Of course, negative cash flow as you can see from any early stage companies.
Anyone from Mountain View office? I got an offer from Zume but I just wanted to check about work culture and type of work at Mountain View office?
@uakj47 I’m interviewing with PayPal and Zume (as well as a few others). Can I PM you?
