Have you reached out to fellow alumni from grad school and advisors who have connections in industry (very common route being physics -> finance)? If all else fails, I would contact a headhunter in NYC, but that's usually a last resort as they will want a piece of your starting comp and honestly can't provide much detailed info regarding the company and actual role.
