So i might be going off to an office outside US for one year and come back on L1. How likely is L1 to stay, and is getting green card when i come back to the US relatively easy? How long would i have to stick with the company?
So can the process start as soon as youre back in US?
It's taking a lot longer now. Upto 2 years because of the backlog
Did it my self. No government mandated delays, but your employer may drag their feet. Layoffs can delay getting the labor certificate if it's an L1B. You still have the quota for each country etc. You can't switch company while dependent on the L1. Coming from Europe it took me about 18 months.
If you are coming back on L1A, you may be eligible for EB1C.Takes about 6-9 months for GC since you can skip labor certication
