Will be joining OCI in Seattle next month and planning to live near to the office area. Looking for a good community that has inclusive car parking and fairly reasonable 1 bed apartment for two people. Appreciate your help. Edit: Any recommendations on cheaper options outside of downtown Seattle would be much appreciated as well. Looking for options between downtown Seattle and Bothell. Current TC: 120K
Car parking is usually not included in downtown apartments. You can get it separately, expect to pay ~200 a month for parking. Checkout hotpads.com for apartments.
Budget?
Around $1600 pm.
Not gonna happen in Seattle or immediate surrounding. Look for student housing.
Look at condos for rent by owners, they usually include all utilities and car parking. I think you can get 1Bed 1 bath for $1600. Good Luck
Any specific website recommendations to find them?
Zillow has all of the listings, I found my rental there
What’s your OCI tc? I heard parking at the building is 300+ per month
OCI TC is around ~190K. That parking amount looks very expensive. Not sure if car commute would be feasible any way.
Or live away from the downtown and take buses to office. Places like Bellevue or Mercer island or Kirkland you can find cheaper apartments and much better and safe neighborhood.
I pay $2300 + $225 for parking for an urban 1bdrm. For your budget look at queen anne, ballard or fremont
Your budget is way too low.
I'm open to other options in the nearby areas.
With that TC you can afford more
Look near Columbia city and commute with light rail.
How’s Columbia city as a neighborhood? Safety/housing/convenience
I would say quite good. I live nearby and never had any problems
Mind sharing insight as to your on site?
Dm.
Thanks fam 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Look up equity apartments, they have some good options in the area
Heard good things from my friend that lives in one of their properties as well.
I live in Equity apartments (Cascade). Good building but overpriced, trash noise in the alley is awful and parking is $225/mo. If you live here dont live by the alley. Having a/c is nice
